District Goals

The Trask Bear Team Will:

Provide an environment that is inviting, respect-ful, supportive, inclusive, and flexible.

Provide relevant and rigorous instruction based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

Provide students and parents with feedback on the students’ progress via phone calls, emails, parent conferences, and through Parent Portal.

Update grade book weekly through the Power School Portal.

Encourage student use of organizational strategies such as a student planner .

Provide students with opportunities to read, write, think, and speak in every class every day.
 
Elective Teachers Will:
Provide students the opportunity to explore potential interests and talents beyond the core curriculum.
 
6th Grade Teachers Will:
Assist students with transitioning from the elementary school environment to the middle school environment.

Teach each student to use a planner for communica-tion, to help students become more self reliant, and as a tool to actively communicate expectations and student progress.
 
7th Grade Teachers Will:
Continue to work on organizational structure and skills introduced in 6th grade.
 
Assist students in understanding the rewards and/or consequences of their choices.
 
Prepare students to transition into the increased freedom offered in 8th grade.
 
8th Grade Teachers Will:
Help students develop communication skills for the
21st century work environment.
 
Prepare students for the transition from the middle school environment to the high school environment.

Parents and Students, We Want You!

Learn about the various club offerings at Trask Middle School and become a part of the ones that interest you the most! Parent volunteers are always needed to assist the clubs with supervision, fundraising, and simply adding to the clubs effectiveness by offering your skills and talents!
